Every owner of the building, including hotels, restaurants, offices, or other property, must put area plumbing and sanitation as an integral part of the building. Contamination of a building’s internal piping or associated household appliances whether by terrorist act or through an unintentional mishap, also could pose a serious threat to the health of building occupants.

When we turn on the tap to get water, many of us don’t realize that there a distinct possibility that unhealthy chemicals, and sewage could contaminate out literal water lines from the main sewer that they connect to. Arsenic, lead and other heavy metals are components often found on American buildings tap water. It’s no secret!

However, the role that backflow prevention devices play is so important to public health. It is required by law for certain businesses to get their backflow device tested and serviced by licensed professionals on a regular basis. You can usually find a local professional backflow prevention device tester in the phone book or on the internet, and their prices are fair and manageable for most business owners. Regardless of how you find a backflow testing specialist, do not ever let this responsibility fall to the wayside.

The consequences of not having your backflow prevention devices tested regularly are severe, not only could you face fines and legal action from local health departments, but the health your costumers and employees could be placed in jeopardy if you don’t make sure your backflow devices are properly serviced. As a responsible manager, it’s your job to ensure that all sanitary prevention devices are up to code and in good condition. For all this, asking a provider service to handle your sanitary and plumbing problems is the best decision that you will make.

Great artical about such an important subject. Unfortunately here in New Jersey, there is a senate bill #1909 which puts the public in danger because of how it is constructed. It is a bad bill written by a politician who apparently recieved a sizable campaign contribution and does not understand the danger that can be caused to the public.

The New Jersey State League of Master Plumbers have been ardently apposed to this pending disaster and have been instramental in quashing it for now in committee. If you would like to know more about us, please visit njslmp.org and check us out.
