Virtual world for Muslim internet users has been launched with the goal to make online communities popular such as Second Life. Muxlim Pal allows users to use an avatar or “pal” to explore the world that promote the custom of Islam.

Users can purchase gift for friends with online currency, sholat in the mosque and wear jilbab. Each user has a meter showing the level of spirituality, happiness, health and knowledge that can be changed after the user does some specific tasks. In addition Muxlim also have a bar on the beach, and shopping area. Each user is also given a private room that can be decorated by user.

Mohamed El-fatatry, founder Muxlim.com said that the site is not a religious site, but the site is focus on the Islamic lifestyle. Because there is no other virtual world that offers a friendly environment for this community, it encouraged him to build Muxlim. El-fatatry explains that the site is open to both Muslim and non Muslim users.
